Mathematical Adventure in Roman Times


The Roman Adventure from Storm Educational Software is a cross-curricula adventure program for children aged 7 to 11 years old in which children can develop and re-inforce their mathematical and history knowledge through an adventure program, set in Roman Times.

Children are sent back in time to explore the roman town of Tempestratis, and in different parts of the town, they can take part in activities, each of which is linked to a learning objective in the National Numeracy Strategy. These activities include:
" at the home of a wealthy roman, divide food amongst the guests at a dinner party, involving division and fractions at the highest levels
" in a Roman bath house, put numbered tiles in a sequence
" after a vote in the senate, count the number of votes, involving the adding and finding the difference in large numbers
